Welcome. I’m glad you found my page.
I earned an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas- Go Mean Green! I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I’ve provided counseling in a variety of settings which include: private practice, a non-profit agency for survivors of intimate partner violence, an outpatient mental health/substance abuse hospital, and a university counseling clinic. I’ve received additional training to work with medically underserved and culturally diverse populations. I am also a certified Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator.
My specialties include anxiety, postpartum depression, adult survivors of childhood trauma, support for those transitioning out of high control/high demand religious groups, and creating healthy relationships. As a therapist, I create a safe, nurturing relationship with clients to foster client self-empowerment and growth. I use evidenced based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and attachment research to create a unique treatment plan for each client.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a public school educator. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, dancing, chips and queso, swimming, remixing dessert recipes, and karaoke. Sometimes you’ll find me locked in to a riveting documentary- and sometimes it’s a Real Housewives kind of night for me. I have a deep understanding of how anxiety and intergenerational trauma can wreak havoc on life’s simple pleasures. I feel honored to be a part of your journey.
Just for fun:
